William Morris Gallery Late: Rise Up – 1st Dec 2016

The WMG Lates are a chance to experience the Gallery in a relaxed adult atmosphere. Visit the special exhibitions and sample some of the best art, music, poetry and performance in London. Pop along to the tearoom for the Larder Late bar, fully stocked with fine wines, craft beers and seasonal specialities.

This month get fired up over a century of art and music campaigning for political change, inspired by the Gallery’s current exhibition A World to Win. The night explores the sound of contemporary protest with Hattie Collins and Olivia Rose talking about their new book This Is Grime, Artist in Residence Daniel Baker interviewing grime academic Monique Charles and playing some of their favorite tracks on his own pop-up radio show and hip hop/grime artist Lemzi and local MCs performing live. DJ collective General Echo Sound System provide the soundtrack, students from Waltham Forest College exhibit their own punk-inspired creations and University of the Arts Alumni and Arts Activists Jill Kennedy McNeill and Summer Oxley invite you to join them in a hands on Arts Attack.
