Whatever the reason for your evening celebration - birthday bash, engagement drinks, anniversary party or big reunion - Butler's Retreat can provide the perfect setting for your event. Private and semi-private areas are available, accommodating both intimate and larger gatherings.

We offer our signature culinary style of home cooked, whole food menus featuring only the finest locally-sourced and artisan products. Alongside this we can create the perfect bar offer as we are fully licensed.

There’s nothing more exciting than an upcoming wedding or a new addition to the family, so celebrate your bridal shower or baby shower at the Butler’s Retreat.

We’ve taken our crowd-pleasing Afternoon Tea and Finger Buffet options to create a relaxed, stress-free catering style, just add bubbles if desired. Our semi-private Forest View room has proved to be an incredibly popular venue for baby showers and bridal parties, seating up to 34 guests, full details here.

Interested in hosting your Christmas party in the rural charm of our Essex Barn in Epping Forest? We can deliver a superb three or four course menu or something bespoke.

Butler’s Retreat is available for private hire any night of the week throughout the festive period. Bookings available for groups of minimum 25 guests, with a maximum seated capacity of 34. Capacity is considerably higher, up to 100 guests, for standing/mingling events, just let us know what you need.

Looking to host a children’s birthday party? We can’t put up a bouncy castle, play loud music nor host a cast of entertainers, but if you want good food and great surroundings the Larder at Butler’s Retreat might be the place! For older kids who fancy something a little different, afternoon tea can be a great option too.
